Review:

It may seem odd to review a book of crosswords, but this is a little unusual, as the subtitle is a bit of an understatementI have for years spent a bit of time each day at a puzzle, usually in the morning just to clear my head of sleepThough not an expert, I have become somewhat proficient, and prefer the NYT puzzles over all others, particularly the Saturday and Sunday onesI usually finish one in 15 to 30 minutes, occasionally carrying a thorny one over to the next dayThese puzzles, however, have a maddeningly open grid with the Times' usual misdirection, and most of them have taken me at least two or three daysI have been working daily on it for over two months and am barely a third of the way throughThose of you who have difficulty finding challenging puzzles, and finish a book of puzzles in a week, will find this a pleasant surprise and a great value.
